What's Excel/CSV turning JSON?
In modern Web development, JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is the standard format for data exchange. However, most raw data (e.g. business statements, configuration lists) are usually stored in Excel or CSV (coma-separated values) tables. This tool serves as an intermediate to convert human-readable table structure into program-readable JSON structure.
Why this tool?
- Smart Recognition: No manual separator is required. The algorithm that we have in place automatically identifies whether you paste from Excel (separated by tab) or standard CSV files.
- Multiple structural support: Supports the conversion of tables to object arrays (suitable for API responses), two-dimensional arrays (suitable for data analysis) or simple key pairs.
- Local running, safe.: Your data is processed locally in the browser and will never be uploaded to the server. Processing of tens of KiloCell of lines of data can also be done in a moment.
- Format Beautified: The output JSON is automatically indented to facilitate direct reading and code integration.
Use a small tip
If you paste data from Excel, make sure that the full area containing the heading line is selected. If the table contains special characters (e.g. line breaks or quotation marks), our solver follows the RFC 4180 standard and can successfully handle complex fields with quotation marks.
