What's tip?

The tip is an additional reward for the quality of services provided by the service providers. In many countries, particularly the United States and Canada, tipping is an important part of the food culture. Unlike other countries, service providers in these areas are paid lower wages and tips become the main source of their income.

Why do you need a tip calculator?

  • Quick accuracy: In restaurants, bars, taxis, etc., you can quickly get a tip without thinking.
  • Equitable distribution: AA meals can be accurately calculated to avoid disputes over the amount due per person
  • Understanding of customs in different countries: The culture of tips varies widely from country to country, and tools provide reference guides
  • Time saved: No calculators or cell phone calculators, just enter them directly into the tool
  • Learning to manage finances: Helping users understand the relationship between consumption costs and actual expenditures

Use method

  1. Enter bill amount: enter the total amount of this consumption in the bill amount entry box
  2. Select the tip ratio: click the default 10, 15, 18 or 20% button or enter an arbitrary ratio in the custom box
  3. Adjusted number of people: adjusted number of people eating with +/- buttons or input boxes
  4. View results: the tool automatically calculates the amount, amount of tips and totals due per person

Global culture of tipping

  • • United States: 15-20% Cheap is standard practice. Dining room attendants, taxi drivers and bartenders usually depend on tips. If the service is poor, a tip of less than 15 per cent is available.
  • • Canada: 15-20% of the petty cash culture is similar to that of the United States. This applies mainly to services such as restaurants, taxis, hotels, etc.
  • * United Kingdom: 10-15% tip, but not compulsory. Many restaurants add service charges to their bills, which are checked before they are paid.
  • Australia: About 10% tip (non-compulsory). The waiter is paid more, and tips are an incentive for excellent service rather than a necessity.
  • • Japan: No tip. The tipping of Japanese culture may be considered un mannery. The service charges are included in the bill.
  • China: No tip. Although high-end hotels may accept tips, this is not a cultural tradition. Service charges are included in some restaurant bills.
  • • Other European countries: 5-10% tip (depending on the country). The service charges for many European countries are included in the bill.
  • • India: No compulsory tip, but 5-10% is considered as recognition of good service.

Cheap computing technique.

  • Quickheart algorithm: If the tip is 15%, then the first 10% (differing the amount by 10) plus 5% (half of 10%) plus the two are sufficient
  • Rounded: In many cases, the total amount is rounded to the nearest integer, which is easy to pay.
  • Quality adjustments: Good services are available at 20 per cent or higher, general services at 15 per cent, unsatisfactory services at 10 per cent
  • Group preferences: Some restaurants automatically add 18-20 per cent to the service fee for large numbers (usually over six).
