Support for multiple dice... encrypt random... shake and throw.
Full guide for dice simulators: table games, DND runs and probability learning
Dice are one of the oldest random tools in human history, and archaeological discoveries show that they were found in ancient Mesopotamian and Indus basin civilizations as early as 3,000 BC. Today, dice are not only central tools for table-showing, but are also indispensable tools in probabilistic teaching, mathematical research and game design. This online dice simulator uses encrypted, secure, random generators to ensure that each drop is a truly fair random result.
Various dice types and use scenarios
| Dice. | Noodles | Value range | Main uses |
|---|---|---|---|
| D4 | Four. | 1-4 | DND dagger injury, Master's magic. |
| D6 | Six. | 1-6 | Most commonly, Yahtzee, the rich, the property drop. |
| D8 | Eight. | 1-8 | DND swords hurt, Dragonsoo. |
| D10 | Ten. | 1-10 | The percentage dice, the world's dark and so on. |
| D12 | Twelve. | 1-12 | DND Axes Harming, The Character of the Barbarian |
| D20 | Twenty. | 1-20 | DND core decides the dice, and it's a success. |
| D100 | Percentage dice | 1-100 | Skills check, random incident sheet |
Dice in DND
At D&D D20 is the core dice of 5e. Whenever a role attempt is likely to fail, a D20 is required, with a relevant attribute correction value, compared to difficulty level (DC). (b) When natural 20 (shock) occurs, the attack automatically hits and causes double damage to the dice; When natural 1 (a major failure) occurs, the attack automatically fails.
- Properties Check : Drop D20+ attribute correction, compared to DC
- Attack and throw. : drop D20+skilled add value + attribute correction compared to target AC
- Exemptions : Throw D20+ waiver value added, resist magic and special effects
- Hurt throw. : Use corresponding dice according to type of weapon
- Strengths/deficits : two D20s to take high/low
Probability and mathematics: understanding dice expectations
The multiple dice throws follow the normal distribution (the center is extremely restrictive). For example, the expectation of throwing 2D6 is 7 and this is also the most common result, with the lowest probability at both ends (2 and 12) (approximately 2.78 per cent each). Understanding the probability of dice helps:
- Table and tour decisions: when to take risks and when to keep them safe
- DND role-building: how to maximize the impact rate
- Probability teaching: visualizing random incident distribution
- Game design: balancing game difficulty and randomity
Common Dice Formula Interpretation
The standard DND dice type is "NdX+M", where N is the number of dice, X is the face number and M is the correction value. For example:
- 3d6+3 : three six-Dices, plus 3 (range 6-21)
- 1d20+5 : throw a 20-Dice with 5 corrections (common attack throw)
- 4d6 to 3 : Throw four six-Dices and drop one of the lowest ones (relationship method)
- 2d6×100 : percent dice throw, for random watch
Why use the online dice simulator?
Physical dice, though full of a sense of quality, have some limitations: manufacturing deviations may lead to high frequency in some aspects; (b) Online games cannot use real dice; Some of the rare dice (e.g. D100) are not easily available. This simulator uses Web Crypto `crypto.getRandomValues() `generate a random number of password-safes' in API, which is more even than `Math.random() ' , completely eliminates the physical dice bias.
How to use this dice emulator
- Select Dice Type (D4 to D100)
- Set the number of drops (1-10)
- Sets the revised values (-20 to 20)
- Click "Dices" or space/back
- Cell phone users can shake the device and trigger the drop.
- Use shortcut buttons to use a common DND group throw
