Depth resolution: How to control emotions and stress through breathing?

Respiration is the only autonomous nervous system function that can be controlled by consciousness. By adjusting the rhythm of breathing, we can send a signal directly to the brain, so that the pressure level can be adjusted in minutes. The tool brings together several scientifically validated breathing patterns that are applicable to different life scenarios.

1. 4-7-8 Respiratory: Natural sedatives

This approach was promoted by Dr. Andrew Weil. The core of this is "silent" and "long exhale":

  • Inhalation (4 seconds): Activate the synapses.
  • Quiet (7 seconds): Let oxygen enter the blood and spread it all over the body.
  • Exhale (8 seconds): Activate the sub-touch nerves, create a deep sense of relaxation.

Applies to scene: Quick defusing anxiety and sleeping.

2. Square breathing (Box Breathing): Special Forces Specialized Forces Specialized Forces Special Forces Special Forces Special Forces Special Forces Special Forces Special Forces Special Forces Special Forces Special Forces

This method is often used by SEAL commandos to maintain calm under extreme pressure. It uses a long-term sucking, stopping, whirling, stopping:

  • Inhalation 4 seconds → breath 4 seconds → exhale 4 seconds → breath 4 seconds.

Applies to scene: The government has been making major decisions, raising its focus, and controlling panic.

3. Equal Breathing: daily balancer

The most basic but also extremely effective exercise. (a) by lengthening and aligning the inhaling and exhale time (e.g., 5-5), which balances your nervous system and allows the body to enter a “consistent state”.

Applies to scene: The pressure of the meditation is regulated by the introduction of meditation and daily work gaps.

Practice with the little tip:

  1. Position: It is recommended that the positions be straight or on the back, so that the abdomen can rise and fall freely.
  2. Snacks: Breathe as deep as possible with the nose and with the mouth (which can make a slight “scream”).
  3. Progressive: When practice starts, if you feel suffocated, you can reduce the number of seconds appropriately and keep the ratio.
