What is the UV Index?
Ultraviolet index (UV) Index is an international standard for measuring the intensity of solar ultraviolet radiation reaching the Earth ' s surface. The greater the value of the index, starting from 0, the greater the UV radiation, the greater the risk of harm to human skin and eyes. By understanding the current ultraviolet index, you can take appropriate sunscreen measures to effectively prevent health problems such as sunburning, skin aging and skin cancer.
How to protect ourselves from the sun?
Scientific sunscreening requires a combination of chemical sunscreen and physical sunscreen. When the UV index reaches 3 (medium) or above:
- - I'm not gonna get a job. It is recommended that sunscreen be used in the staf 30+ and be filled every 2 hours after a large amount of sweat or swimming.
- Physical cover: Long sleeves, broad edge suncaps and sunglasses with ultraviolet (UV400) protection.
- Avoid peak time: The strongest periods of ultraviolet light are usually between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., during which out-of-door exposure should be minimized and shades searched.
Do you need sunscreen in the dark?
Yes! Even in cloudy or dark skies, up to 80 per cent of ultraviolet light can penetrate clouds to the ground. In addition, surfaces such as snow, water and sands reflect ultraviolet light, further increasing exposure. Therefore, sunproofing is not only the exclusive preserve of summer, but is a daily care that requires attention every four seasons of the year.
Difference between UV-A and UV-B
The UV in solar radiation is divided into the main groups. UV-A (long wave) and UV-B (middlewave) :
- UV-A: Strong penetration and access to skin-real cortex are the main causes of skin ageing, wrinkles and long-term damage. It is not affected by clouds and glass.
- UV-B: The main influence on the skin surface is the main cause of sunburn and skin swelling, and the cause of most skin cancer. Its intensity is more strongly influenced by seasons, times and weather.
Sunproof balance with vitamin D
Although ultraviolet light can cause damage, it is also human synthesis. Vitamin D The main source. Scientificly recommended vitamin maintenance through short, non-peak time-frames of sunlight or dietary supplements (e.g. fish, yolk) while protecting skin D level, not blindly long periods of sun.
